The Lawrenceville Police Department, Quality of
Life (QOL) Unit is a community oriented, pro-active enforcement unit designed to
improve the quality of life for the residents of the City of Lawrenceville,
through the use of state laws and local ordinances.
The unit is utilized for enforcement in high crime
and depressed areas to gain voluntary compliance of the residents and business
owners with regards to city ordinances and enforce such ordinances when
voluntary compliance is not met. Most recently, the Quality of Life Unit
has also been tasked with handling certain individual ordinance complaints,
which are no longer addressed by the City of Lawrenceville Planning and Zoning
Office.
Each complaint addressed by the Quality of Life
Unit is handled by a uniform inspection process, giving the resident, landowner
or business owner, ample time to bring violations of city ordinances into
compliance.
