No one knows who the first Lawrenceville Police officer was, but being the second oldest city outside of Atlanta, it was a long time ago.  Even then, the Lawrenceville Police Department was one of the most respected law enforcement agencies in Georgia.  As our family grew through the years, the same pride and integrity remained.  Today, the City of Lawrenceville is still growing with the times.  It's current population of almost 30,000 residences and over 70 sworn officers are far from the numbers when we were established.  It is the goal of the Lawrenceville Police Department to continue to cope with the increasing crime rates that effect the peace and harmony of our community.
